Dr. Maureen's Blog

This is my way of staying connected with friends and family while I travel to Haiti on a medical relief trip. I am so grateful to have an opportunity to help with the devastation in Haiti and expect it to be challenging, intense and most likely a very moving experience. Thank you to everyone who became a part of the effort by donating medical supplies and encouraging me to take this trip. Please send love, humor and support this way because I may need it! Thanks, everybody!

This group is housing up to 250 relief workers at a time. They’re assessing which clinics need supplies and workers and transporting us there. They’re the ones enabling all of these talented, selfless people to play a role in helping a devastating situation. It is a non-denominational group. The US military asked them if they could stay here and have a presence. We’ve met people here from Korea, Aruba, Holland, Spain, Germany, England, France and Canada. If you’re looking for someone to donate funds to towards helping Haiti, this is a worthwhile and safe option.
